About us

Red Rock Trails are the Regan family

We fell in love with this quiet corner of Catalunya in the foothills of the Pyrenees and moved out in 2014. As a family we’ve rebuilt the old farm buildings at our base in the sleepy little village of Vilamitjana; all the while getting to know the area and the people who live here: the best hidden mountain river rockpools, who makes the finest cheese and wine, when to expect fresh wild figs and pomegranates; although we’re still to be shown the best wild mushroom spots, they’re a closely-guarded secret round here…

Chris

After growing up in small town Spain, Chris returned to the UK to study and work in engineering – before the lure of returning to Spain and swapping the office for the trails became too much. He is now a fully qualified and insured mtb guide under the Spanish system.

Heather

A childhood racing on the UK’s dry ski slopes led Heather to a love of the mountains. Time working in restaurants in the UK and the US, and a job as a project manager come in handy ensuring that all our guests are well catered for and that everything runs smoothly around here.

Dan and Iona

We’re not sure now whether Dan and Iona are British or Catalan! Fluent in Catalan and Spanish, the kids have embraced life in our rural community, and barely remember wet and drab UK weather. Weekends and evenings spent cycling, climbing and skiing and snowboarding are the big bonuses of living here.

We enjoy sharing our love of the mountains with our guests and would love you to let us introduce you to the wild and beautiful Pallars region on the sunny side of the Pyrenees.
